PRELIMINARY SWIMMING POOL LAYOUT 8-18-23 - REV-2

SWIMMING POOL LAYOUT
The Swimming Pool Layout is diagrammatically shown. This drawing provides a series of assigned “Details”, which will offer further explanation for the code compliant intended installation instruction specifics.

Each of the numbered assignments refers a code required component and the drawing exhibits the intended locations for each. Some of the components exhibited are not in the Design Work Scope of the swimming pool mechanical design but are indicated so that other Design Professionals can familiarize themselves what what will be necessary in order to collaborate a code compliant swimming pool plan for submission.

In summery here are the assigned item numbers that have not been made inclusive to the swimming pool mechanical Design Work Scope;

  • ITEM #12 GAS SUPPLY
  • ITEM #13 GAS SLEEVING
  • ITEM #14 WATER SUPPLY
  • ITEM #17 HOSE BIBBS
  • ITEM #18 SUB-PANELS

  • ITEM #66 SAFETY BARRIER – FENCING

PRELIMINARY EQUIPMENT PAD LAYOUT 8-18-23 – REV-2

The preliminary Equipment Pad indicates the dimensional space being allocated for the Swimming Pool Equipment. The purpose of which is to allow a collaboration with the other project Design Professionals so that they can accomadate the supply of the utility infrastructures to the Equipment Pad location together with evaluating their sizes / capacities i.e.; Electric Power = Amperes, Gas = Type and Pipe Size, etc..(If a Gas Heater is applicable).

NOTE: Please confirm if a Pool Heater is applicable.

NOTE: ADDITIONAL SPACE WILL NEED TO BE ALLOCATED FOR THE STORAGE OF CHEMICALS (ORP / pH), SEE DIMENSIONS

POOL DEPTHS LAYOUT
The Pool depths are believed to be from -Zero Entry at the shallow end to -6′-0″ at the deep end (located in the NORTH of the pool). Additionally, there is a 4′-6″ “Break Point” that requires a tile indicator and a Rope / Anchor line to be ran across the entire width of the pool, per code. Furthermore, the pool’s bottom slope cannot exceed a 1:12 descent from the stairs entry to this Break Point. And after this the bottom can’t exceed a 1:3 rate of descent to the lowest bottom depth. The entry steps on both ends of the pool descend in equal 9″ increments (-9″,-18″,-27″,-36″, 45″) and will have a single handrail.

NOTE #1: There are twenty-two (22) Wall Returns, forty-four (44) Floor Returns, fourteen (14) Surface Skimmers, three (3) Main Drain, and fifteen (15) 12v/ 300w LED Lights.

NOTE #2: There is NOT an ADA Lift Chair due to the Zero Entry Ramp

NOTE #3: The pool’s surrounding concrete decking area will need to be defined on the architectural drawings and the deck lighting will need to be shown on the electrical drawings. Therefore the deck lighting requirement will be .50w/SF of illumination. Please provide this information to the Electrical Engineer together with the anticipated load values for all equipment.

NOTE #4: I have assumed that there will be decking around the entire pool and therefore I have indicted a “Slotted Drain” for all of the area adjacent to the pool deck. Therefore the concrete decking surface is to be sloped away from the Building’s foundation and away from the edge of the pool and intersect at an inverted elevation TBD lower than the starting elevation at each edge. This will allow water to migrate toward the center and be carried out via a 4.00″ pipe to be installed below the deck. The deck’s slope is equal to 1/4″ per foot fall toward the center. If something differs from this approach please markup the preliminary plan showing me the limits of the intended concrete deck that would be reflecting otherwise.
