This webpage has been provided in order to offer a quick and easy reference source for viewing the planning exhibits that will explain the LOCATIONS of the featured mechanical elements, and how the PROPOSED development is being considered.
The Site / Pool Plan Layout is diagrammatically shown. This drawing provides a series of assigned “Details”, which will offer further explanation for the intended code compliant installation instruction specifics.
Each of the numbered assignments refers to a code required component and the drawing exhibits the intended general locations for each. Some of the components exhibited are not in the Design Work Scope of the swimming pool / spa mechanical design but are indicated so that the Pool Builder can communicate to the other Design Professionals what shall be needed and so that they can familiarize themselves what what will be necessary in order to collaborate a code compliant swimming pool plan for the permit submission.
In summery there are assigned item numbers that have been identified at the proposed locations. Please use these numbers to identify the locations of each item listed and print a copy of the preliminary plan layout below and then markup the drawing show us any changes to these locations.

Due to the requirement that the Trough / Gutter System (inclusive of the Drain Pipe) needs to be able to handle the Bather Load capacity of 405-EA the Trough shall need to be 12″w x 18″d with an inverted radius contoured bottom. The Trough / Gutter system is connected to a Drain Pipe / Catch Basin network that has been designed to accomadate the required pipe slope / fall and terminate into the upper portion of a specific Surge Tank. There are (3) three separate (subterranean) Surge Tanks that have considered each Drain Pipe section length, the bottom elevation of each are accommodating each pipe sections overall fall over the distance of the run, surge capacity and the circulation’s water volume required for achieving the six (6) hour turnover rate of flow.
There are a total of (13) thirteen (A-1 thru A-13) Catch Basins involving the Trough / Gutter system for the pool and (3) three (B-1 thru B-3) for the Lower Basin. The Lower Basin has been resized in order to mirror the same perimeter distance as the Vanish Edge (48′-7″) and this is so that the Rim Flow Edge will maintain the same uniformity for the flow characteristics.
The Lower Basin also has a separate Main Drain (D-3) and set of (4) four return lines (62 thru 65), which will be serving the Laminar Jets. This system will provide for the required turnover rate for the Lower Basin’s shallow water volume, which can result in stagnation during the hotter months due to the propensity for developing difficulty with maintaining a balanced water chemistry with just the V-Edge spillover rate of flow.
